Lower Case
- Gently remove the ten screws that secure the lower case to upper case:
Two 2.3 mm P5 Pentalobe screws
Eight 3.0 mm P5 Pentalobe screws

Battery Connector
For the battery removal first, remove the screws that secure battery connector board to the logic board
- Two 2.8 mm T6 Torx screws
- One 7.0 mm T6 Torx shouldered screw

- With the help of T6 Torx screw just remove the wide head 6.4 mm that secure the battery connector to the logic board assembly.
Step – 4
Battery Contact Board
- With the help of tweezers just grasp the Interposer and lift it off the logic board and remove it.
Step – 5
Heat Sink Assembly
Gently remove these screws that secure the heat sink to the logic board assembly:
- One 2.4 mm Phillips #00 screw
- One 3.4 mm T5 Torx screw
- Four 2.7 mm T5 Torx screws
- Carefully lift and remove the I/O board data cable with the help of the spudger.
Step – 6
- Move the iSight camera cable aside with the help of a spudger.
Step – 7
Carefully remove the 3.1 mm T5 Torx screws that secure the right and left fan to the logic board assembly.
Just pull tab and the display data cable straight out of its socket on the logic board.
Then grasp the plastic pull tab by pulling the microphone and keyboard ribbon cable out of its socket.
Carefully disconnect the Trackpad ribbon cable
Airport Board Assembly
- Use the flat end of a spudger to pry and disconnect the three antenna cable connectors from the AirPort board.
- Just move the antenna cables and clear of the AirPort board.

Display Assembly
- Slightly pull the display data cable straight out of its socket on the logic board.
- Then remove the two 3.1 mm T5 Torx screws that secure the aluminum hinge brackets.
Step – 8
- Gently remove the 4 inner 5.3 mm T8 Torx screws that secure the display to the upper case.
- Then remove the remaining T8 Torx screw from the upper display bracket.
Step – 9
- Then gently detach it from the display assembly.
- Carefully set each component aside, and make sure to set down the lower half keyboard-side down.
